We are still managing to have our Friday afternoon outings and this week we popped up to the north coast and parked up above Porthtowan for a few hours. It was a glorious afternoon and so bright Im afraid all my photos are a bit over exposed.
We did go for a little walk but it was so hot with no real breeze that it was quite unpleasant wandering along (I am not a sunshine person!) but the flowers were wonderful.Thrift, in great swathes along the path and hanging on in great clumps to the crumbling edges of the cliffs......
.....deep yellow gorse smelling of hot coconut or what I think baked peaches......bees emerging, pollen coated, satisfied.

when we were children living in Bournemouth we used to go for family cliff-top walks.
I always wondered about the folk sitting in their open-windowed cars, gently dozing. . .only now do I "get it"!
The photos of Thrift brought back memories of those walks too; such a wonderfully named flower.
Lovely to take the time to enjoy

Those pictures look like they are straight out of a Come to Cornwall brochure :)
Lets hope the weekend is as glorious :)
Glad to hear you were able to have a day out. Hope your throat is much better by now.
Never mind of falling asleep. One has to feel very comfortable, safe and pleased to sleep in the sun. Just enjoy it!! And keep those Fridays alive!!
Looks like heaven jane. xx

Hasn't the weather been wonderful? Love your photos Jane. Sounds like a very, very pleasant way to spend an afternoon to me!
My hubby's greatest fear is that we will turn into the people who drive to the coast - to have a sleep in the car!!! in matching beige outfits!!!! Great photos - I LOVE Cornwall. xxx
