Not the Royal Wedding!

Today, being two of the few I am sure, that had no interest in staying in and watching The Wedding we took advantage of most of the population being indoors watching their TV's and went on a little road trip around the Constantine area near Falmouth.

Tiny creeks,

little paths through bluebell woods

and clear tinkling brooks abound

in this beautiful part of Cornwall where every turn seems to lead to another stunning part of this vast estuary.

Houses nestle in along the edge of the water,

from lovely Georgian homes

to tiny cosy cottages, I want to live in all of them.

boats waiting for the tide to return,

some of them never to take to the sea again, sad old wrecks alongside flashy youngsters. I wish I could get this home and make it into a summer house in the garden.

Along the road to Port Navas we walked, enjoying the views and the sunshine.

I hope that you enjoyed your day as much as we did, however you celebrated it.  Heres to a lovely weekend too.

Like you we celebrated it as an extra day to be together doing our own thing. Thanks for showing how stunning Cornwall is and giving me a refreshing change of attitude to hear.

Beautiful piccies. I can see why you wouldn't want to sit in front of the telly. I only watched 5 minutes as I wanted to see the dress! Lizzie x

Looks like you had a lovely day, we too didn't stay in to watch the wedding but went to IKEA! I actually thought it was shut when we arrived as there was only about a dozen cars in the carpark abd it was bliss to walk around without the normal crush.
Have a lovely weekend

What beautiful scenery! I went shopping in Glasgow and it was great - shops were quiet and so were the cafes.

The Helford estuary is such a beautiful place with lots of little nooks and crannies to explore. It certainly looked like you had the world to yourselves.

Hi Jane, we were visiting Falmouth a couple of days ago and I came across your lovely apintings in the Demelza gallery. I've seen them here on your blog but they're a real treat to seeing them in the flesh! Cornwall is such a lovely inspiring place to be an artist isn't it? Lovely photos too by the way. :)xx
