All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey.

I went for a walk on a winters day. Although the sea is a big draw for me, I still in my heart am a country girl and I love nothing more, especially in the winter, than to wander round the lanes around and about near our home. The sky was dark grey when I started out, the clouds reaching down to the land but as so often in Cornwall it all changed in a moment and the sun broke through shining through the last of the autumn leaves.

So here for you to enjoy are a few of the lanes of Cornwall, with a few little treats on the way.

Nature aint half beautiful....
I am a country girl at heart too.. but somehow landed up living on the slopes of a city. A green city but not quite the same as those leafy lanes and wide open spaces.. without a soul in sight.
I do hope you can saddle up your toboggan and get to the V & H on Sunday.. Will be very good to see you m'dear.

I know that road to St. Michael Penkivel very well and it warms my heart to see it unexpectedly.

can i just fly on over for a bit of a stroll with you? what lovely and peaceful countryside you have there. in a way it reminds me a bit of parts where i live in california.

jane, your pull toys are a fabulous find!! no matter the wear, they are so sweet. now that quilt....oh dear...i don't think i would put a backing on it....then you wouldn't be able to see all of the bits of handwritten notes. very interesting how they made that.

Hello my friend...where have the days gone, I have been so busy with all the work and knitting...I am having a snow day with polly the fire is lit, I have finished my GCSE marking and now I am knitting a lovely red cashmere hat to go with my new coat which is the new love of my life....I have also covered lots of little boxes with paper mache made from pages from a very old dilapidated book...I am delighted with the results...I hope you are well and keeping warm...its ever so cold here... those lanes look familiar are they on the way to you lovely home?? hope you are well...ps the story was typed up for school....

My thanks also for the beautiful pictures. My father lived in Cornwall for a long time, first in Perranoporth and later in TwelveHeads. Wonderful memories that your photographs brought back to me.
